Acupuncture

Souls' Way Wellness offers root and branch acupuncture treatments in the styles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM). The APM style of medicine includes palpation and the release of trigger points in the muscular body. This style has proven effective in pain relief due to a tight musculature. Traditional Chinese Medicine addresses many imbalances in the body through a number of available approaches. Acupuncture stimulates the body’s innate ability to heal itself in all of these approaches. Herbal medicine can be recommended when necessary in conjunction with needling. Treatments may include adjunct techniques, such as cupping, gua sha and moxa where appropriate. Therapy level essential oils, hydrosols, and flower essences on acupuncture points (ATT) are customarily used in conjunction with acupuncture in the treatment room where applicable and upon the patient’s preference. Acupuncture can also be used as a stand alone modality. Only disposable needles are used.

Aroma Touch Therapy

Aroma Touch Therapy (ATT) is a treatment modality that uses pure, organic Essential Oils, flower essences and gem elixirs on acupuncture points and other parts of the body. Each essential oil has one or more functions that can complement or enhance the functions of the acupuncture points. Using essential oils in the treatment room can deepen the intended effects of the treatment and can expedite the intended results. Essential oils can work on many levels, can be absorbed directly through olfaction, and can reach beyond the blood brain barrier to address emotional issues such as anxiety. Souls’ Way Wellness only uses essential oil vendors dedicated to the purity and efficacy of their products, as well as to sustainable practices. ATT can be combined with acupuncture or as a stand alone treatment modality.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese "hands-on" healing tradition passed down from teacher to student. Although Reiki has been practiced prior to 1922, the Reiki techniques used in the USA today are most likely in the tradition of Sensei Mikao Usui, the founder of Reiki System of Natural Healing. Reiki is a spiritually guided life force energy used to reduce stress and enhance the quality of life. The reiki practiced at Souls' Way Wellness is in the Japanese tradition passed down from Mikao Usui via Mrs. Hawayo Takata of Hawaii. Reiki can be used in conjunction with acupuncture and/or essential oils or as a stand alone practice.

Sound Therapy

The vibration of sound has a great potential for change. Dr. Masaru Emoto’s live experiments with various sounds and water crystals was the inspiration to adding sound in the treatment room. Dr Emoto showed that music, sounds, and even the written and spoken word can cause change on the molecular level of water crystals. Since humans are composed mostly of water, Dr Emoto extrapolated that these positive effects can be translated to people. Simply chanting bija or seed sounds can activate the 7 energy centers or major chakras of the human body in order to purify and balance the mind body spirit. The sounds produced at Souls’ Way Wellness are primarily made by singing bowls and chimes. These instruments are used as adjunct treatment with acupuncture and/or aroma touch therapy.
