Elaine Bowlby, MSCM, LAc is the principal of Souls’ Way Wellness.

Inspired by Po, the corporeal spirit, the spirit that exists in the body, Elaine approaches treatments with the intention of spirit mind body integration. This is accomplished via acupuncture, essential oils, herbs and reiki.

Elaine obtained her acupuncture license in 2001 after graduating from Tri-State College of Acupuncture (TSCA) with a Masters of Science degree in acupuncture. She is trained in three styles of acupuncture; traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), Kiiko Matsumoto’s Japanese style of acupuncture (KM), and Mark Seem’s western style of acupuncture, Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM). APM employs the use of palpation of tight, tender points and the release of any existing trigger points. In 2005, she continued her education in Chinese medicine by completing her Masters of Science in herbal formulas at TSCA.

In 2007, Elaine studied Level 1 Reiki with Reiki Master Ulla Suokko in the both Japanese and the Hawaiian Karuna traditions. More recently, she completed both Level 1 and 2 of Aroma Acupoint Therapy under the tutelage of Peter Holmes, MS, LAc and Tiffany Pollard, MS, LAc. This therapy is the use of pure essential oils on acupuncture points to enhance or complement the functions of the points with the functions of the oil. Level 1 concentrated on the biomedical effects of the oils on the body and Level 2 concentrated on the level of the Shen or the emotional body.

As a graduate of the 2016 Master Healer Program led by Tiffany Carole Pollard, Elaine deepened her experience with essential oils and learned to incorporate energy healing, crystals and sound in the treatment room. Elaine has been a part of community outreach programs by volunteering as an acupuncturist at Sidney Hillman Health Center and Riverside Church’s Wellness Center in New York, NY.

Elaine is a NY State licensed acupuncturist and a NCCAOM Diplomate of Acupuncture as well as a provider for Oxford/United Healthcare. Elaine uses disposable needles and employs gentle, but effective techniques in the treatment room for conditions including anxiety, pain management, insomnia, women’s health and stress relief.

Take home remedies include custom essential oil blends created specifically for the patient to continue treatment beyond the treatment room.
